Roger is the Conservative Party Councillor for Sevenoaks North & Darent Valley and was re-elected on 6 May 2021.
He has been proud to represent Darent Valley on the County Council, and now represents both current constituents and those from Otford, Kemsing and Seal, who will join the new Sevenoaks North and Darent Valley Division.
He has worked hard for residents in Darent Valley, such as bringing a 20 mph zone and a number of other safety measures to the centre of Crockenhill; working to ease the parking and safety issues near the school in Eynsford; achieving better local broadband in Crockenhill and Well Hill; fighting unwanted minerals and waste plans in Shoreham and Badgers Mount; installing clear entry points in Shoreham and Swanley Village to highlight to motorists that they are coming into a village; salt bins and other highways measures in Horton Kirby and South Darenth; support for local community groups and much more.
At County Hall, he has been the Cabinet Member for Education since 2013, working to ensure that there are more school places for the growing number of children across the County, that there are higher and rising standards in Kent our schools, and that major changes are delivered to provision for children with Special Educational Needs. In Sevenoaks, Roger helped deliver the Weald of Kent girls' grammar school annex, and he wants to see provision for boys as well.
He is now Leader of Kent County Council
