Last Tuesday our Association office was transformed into an 8 seat call centre, contacting voters all over the Country in key target seats, such as Hastings and Rye, to help return a strong Conservative Government.
There was a real buzz as well as lots of laughter from 6.30 pm until 8 pm while our fantastic team hammered the phones making an amazing 365 calls, averaging one call every two minutes per person.
The session, which was led by District Councillor Anna Firth and Conservative campaigner, Amandeep Singh-Bhogal, from neighbouring Bexley Borough, mirrored the format adopted by CCHQ in London with full training and help on hand at all times and a clear script to follow, so no-body was pushed in at the deep end without a life-jacket!
Considering the huge effort in time, energy and money in travelling to far-flung target constituencies this represents a far more efficient and effective use of resources as well as being great fun.
After the session the team de-camped to the Bricklayers Arms for a much needed half of Harvey’s and a bowl of proper, traditional Chipstead chips!
