Conservative councillors on all levels, Town, District and County as well as Michael Fallon MP, have had various meetings since the election in early May pushing for improvements to Swanley Station. We are pleased to announce that Swanley station will be totally refurbished at a cost of approximately £250,000
- The entrance and foyer will be remodelled with automatic doors to the entrance and waiting rooms
- Departure screens to the ticket hall and to all platforms at the foot of the stairs
- Upgrade Closed Circuit Television to digital technology and additional cameras
- Refurbishment of the toilets on platforms 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 including disabled toilets
- Extra cycle parking to entrances and removal of obsolete cycle lockers in the footbridge
- Six extra sets of seating to platforms 1 & 2
- New disabled access ticket office counter
- Ticket hall will have anti slip flooring and upgraded lighting
- New directional signage
- Provision of electrical and water provision for the retail unit on the footbridge
- Replacement of plumbing system to avoid historical occurrence of frozen pipes which closes the toilets in winter
- Refurbishment of waiting rooms to include windows, heating, flooring and repainting
- Two lifts will be installed serving all platforms
- The stairs will be refurbished and handrails installed
Conservatives will continue pushing for Swanley to be included in the oyster zone
