Sevenoaks supports re-election of Matthew Scott – achieving over 50% of the vote in Sevenoaks District!
Sevenoaks Conservative Association has welcomed the re-election of our Kent & Medway Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Scott in the recent election on 2nd May across Kent.
Matthew Scott won with 120,491 votes, Labour came second with 92,508 votes and the Liberal Democrats claimed third place with 60,279 votes.
Most significantly, 53% of all voters in the District who went to the polls voted for Matthew, who secured 9,539 votes from Sevenoaks residents. This left Labour and the Lib Dems to fight for a very distant second place, with just 800 votes between them.
Roddy Hogarth, Chairman of Sevenoaks Conservative Association, stated “This is truly a fantastic result for Sevenoaks Conservatives, showing the strength of support for local Conservative politicians within our area.
Despite Lib Dems claiming all elections are two horse races with them, they failed to achieve any significant lead above Labour in Sevenoaks, especially considering Labour doesn’t even have a single District Councillor on Sevenoaks District Council anymore.”
Matthew’s focus will be to continue to cut crime across the County, and indeed within Sevenoaks District.
